We usually run workshops in the Easter and Summer Holidays.

5-day Summer School

Monday 5th - Friday 9th August

Ages 6-16 | £150 / £100

The live-action remake of The Lion King is hitting our cinema screens this Summer, so we thought what better way to celebrate than by creating our very own remake of our favourite Disney film!

Join CYT this Summer and work with theatre professionals to create a brand-new show, Pride Rock, from scratch in 5 days!

We'll be putting our own CYT spin on the original story, but be sure to expect drama, betrayal & the most unlikely of newfound friendships... as well as a song or two!

Who will win the battle for Pride Rock?

Our promenade performance on the last day will lead our audience on their very own journey through the Pride Lands, within the magical grounds of St Edward's School!

Over the 5 days, CYT will explore:

  • Acting

  • Movement & Physical Theatre

  • Film and Audio

  • Devising & Creative Writing

  • Costume, Prop & Set making

  • Stage Make-up

  • And of course lots of drama games!

  • Applying special fx make up

  • Devising your own work

3-day Performance Project

Monday 15th - Wednesday 17th April

Ages 6-16 | £90 / £60

“Foolery, sir, does walk about the orb like the sun; it shines everywhere.”

Whether its Mr Bean, Homer Simpson, Charlie Chaplin or Laurel and Hardy - slapstick comedy is universally adored by all ages and audiences. During the Easter holiday, CYT will be holding a physical theatre, comedy & mask workshop for young people who love to laugh.

Working with theatre professionals over 3 days, you will explore -

  • Mime & silent movies

  • Mask work

  • Physical theatre

  • Slapstick comedy & clowning

  • Costume, props & stage make-up

  • Drama games & fun!

At CYT the creativity of the young person is at the heart of what we do, their ideas are a priority and we help young people put their ideas into practice. This is a perfect opportunity to learn new skills, meet new friends and clown around!

At the end of the 3 days, family and friends will be invited to watch a sharing of what the young people have created and laugh out loud, just be prepared to duck out of the way of a stray custard pie!
